CPAP Setup Quick Reference Checklist

Pre-Application

Confirm indications present (APE, COPD, severe asthma)
Rule out contraindications (LOC < 10, vomiting, pneumothorax)
Position patient upright (High Fowler's)
Explain procedure to patient
Apply cardiac monitoring and SpO2
Prepare suction and backup airway equipment

Equipment Setup

Connect CPAP device to O2 source (15 L/min)
Attach corrugated tubing
Select appropriate mask size
Set initial PEEP at 5-7 cmH2O
Check for system leaks
